Colorado State came oh-so-close to winning the Mountain West Tournament in Cinderella Story fashion, before they lost 79-71 to Nevada.
Rich Kurtzman recaps that game, what went right — not too much outside of Gian Clavell and Prentiss Nixon going off — and what went wrong. Simply, the Rams couldn’t rebound well enough in the game overall and they didn’t take advantage of Cameron Oliver being out due to two early fouls. Jordan Caroline was massive for the Wolf Pack in that first half as Nevada led by as much as 16 and 12 at the break.
That leaves the Rams with the NIT instead of the NCAA Tournament, and Colorado State is ready to rock tonight as they host the College of Charleston at 7 p.m. MT.
Charleston finished their year 25-9 after similarly losing in their conference championship game. Now, the No. 4 seed Rams host the No. 5 seed Cougars tonight at Moby Arena. Will you be there? Our Kurtzman will be and hopefully a ton of Rams fans show out to make it a homecourt advantage to start out the NIT.

Also discussed is how the Rams can continue forward, if they will have another home game in the NIT as well as the giant on-campus football opener now scheduled against Oregon State.
