The phenomenal road trip hit all the marks for the Rockies: their young pitchers continued their string of success, veteran starter Tyler Chatwood appeared to turn a corner, shortstop Trevor Story returned from injury, and outfielder Carlos Gonzalez’s bat caught fire.
As the club heads back to Coors Field for a weekend series against the contending Cardinals, momentum is clearly on the Rockies’ side — even if the pitching matchups aren’t. The #Rockies are for real, but they’ll have to continue to prove it to a skeptical national media… and their long-suffering fan base.
